3-Day Lushoto Getaway

Your Lushoto adventure begins in the morning with a pickup from your accommodation in Dar es Salaam. We then head to the cool highlands of the Usambara Mountains.

The drive takes approximately 7 hours, covering around 360 kilometres, with the scenery gradually changing from the coastal environment around Dar es Salaam to the rolling countryside and greener landscapes of the Tanga Region.

Along the way, there will be opportunities to stop for refreshments and stretch your legs before continuing towards Lushoto.

Upon arrival, we check into our accommodation and give you time to settle in and relax after the journey. Enjoy the cooler mountain climate, peaceful surroundings, and welcoming atmosphere of Lushoto.

The evening is yours to unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner as you prepare for tomorrow’s mountain adventure.

After breakfast, we set out on foot to explore one of the most spectacular areas around Lushoto—the Irente View Point.

The hike takes us through the beautiful highland surroundings of the Usambara Mountains, with fresh mountain air, green landscapes, farmland, and scenic countryside accompanying us along the trail.

Our destination is Irente View Point, a dramatic viewpoint overlooking the vast landscape below. From here, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the surrounding valleys and plains, with a dramatic drop of more than a thousand metres below the viewpoint.

Take some time to relax, appreciate the scenery, and capture photographs of this remarkable landscape.

From Irente View Point, we continue our walk towards Irente Farm, where a delicious farm-style lunch awaits us. Enjoy a selection of fresh, locally sourced produce, including fruits, vegetables, cheese, honey, jams, bread, and other seasonal specialties.

The farm experience gives you an opportunity to enjoy the fresh flavors of the Usambara highlands while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

After lunch, we begin our hike back towards Lushoto. Take your time to enjoy the scenery and the changing landscapes as we make our way back to the hotel.

The rest of the afternoon can be spent relaxing and enjoying the cool mountain atmosphere.
